The National Research Council (CNR) is the largest public research institution in Italy, (more than 8.000 employees, of whom more than half are researchers and technologists, 4.000 post-docs and PhD students, and many research associates from Universities or private firms).

The mission of CNR is to perform, promote, spread, transfer and improve research activities in the main sectors of knowledge growth and of its applications for the scientific, technological, economic and social development of the Country.

Researchers from two institutes of CNR will be involved in this project, the Institute for the Chemistry of OrganoMetallic Compounds, ICCOM and the Institute of Materials for Electronics and Magnetism, IMEM. The researchers participant to INSPIRES own a well consolidated, internationally-recognized expertise in the field of synthesis and advanced characterization of magnetic materials, as well as device manufacturing technologies.

Role in the project

Characterization of recycled powders, assessing recovery of properties of powders. Morphological, compositional and magnetic characterization and quality control of magnets. Dissemination and communication activities. Education of PhD students.
